With the Active EDW platform, Teradata introduces hybrid storage with both Solid State Drive (SSD) and traditional Hard Disk Drive (HDD) technologies enabled by the Teradata Virtual Storage™ feature. By automatically placing often used “hot” data on high-speed SSD storage and less used “cold” data on traditional speed HDD, this feature optimizes the use of storage. This delivers breakthrough levels of performance per capacity, higher query throughput and faster, more consistent query response times.
